I have a white collar crime, that I caught a federal hit for. I’ve been out of prison for well over 11 years, have been in no trouble at all, and there was no violence or drugs involved. How can I get my gun rights back?

It sounds like you've made significant positive changes in your life since your conviction, which is commendable. Regaining your gun rights after a federal conviction is indeed a complex process, and it's great that you're seeking guidance on how to proceed.

First and foremost, it's crucial to understand the laws and procedures specific to your state, as they can vary widely. Consulting with a lawyer who specializes in this area can provide you with personalized advice and support throughout the process.

In preparing your case for the restoration of your gun rights, gathering documentation that demonstrates your rehabilitation and good conduct since your conviction will be essential. This might include certificates of completion for any rehabilitation programs, letters of recommendation, and evidence of stable employment.

Depending on your circumstances, you may need to petition the court for the restoration of your rights. Your attorney can assist you in navigating this process and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is filed correctly.

While it may be a challenging and time-consuming journey, your commitment to living a law-abiding life and your clean record since your release will work in your favor. With patience, perseverance, and the right legal guidance, you may be able to regain your gun rights.
